Coffee was warm, inviting and good. Breakfast crepes were delicious! The chorizo was a little oily, but delicious - would definitely order it again! Plus that they were gluten free.

The layout is charmingly casual, with warm wooden accents and ample natural light, making it a perfect spot for both a casual brunch or an evening catch-up with friends.
The menu at Millie And Pepper is where the experience truly shines. Every dish seems carefully crafted, balancing classic diner favorites with modern twists. During my last visit, I tried their signature breakfast skillet, which combined perfectly seasoned potatoes, free-range eggs, and a medley of locally sourced vegetables. The richness of flavors and the attention to detail made it evident that the chefs understand both ingredients and technique. Even more impressive was their seasonal sandwich selection, featuring fresh artisan bread paired with locally cured meats and house-made spreads. For anyone keen on supporting local producers, this emphasis on community-sourced ingredients adds a thoughtful layer to each meal.
One of the standout aspects of dining here is the service. Staff members are not only friendly but knowledgeable, able to explain the origins of dishes and offer pairing suggestions without making it feel like a sales pitch. For instance, when I asked about a vegetarian option, the server recommended a roasted vegetable flatbread, highlighting how the chef sources seasonal vegetables from nearby farms-a detail that enhances trust and demonstrates expertise in sustainable sourcing.
Iβve visited a variety of diners across Michigan, but what makes Millie And Pepper unique is its combination of quality and authenticity. Research from the National Restaurant Association shows that diners increasingly value locally sourced ingredients and menu transparency, both of which Millie And Pepper clearly prioritizes. Observing the attention to detail in preparation, presentation, and customer interaction confirms that this is more than just a casual eatery; itβs a place that respects the craft of cooking and the experience of dining.

Such experiences emphasize not only the quality of food but also the restaurantβs commitment to creating meaningful connections with patrons.
If youβre exploring Traverse City, the location on S Union St is convenient and easily accessible, making it ideal for both a quick lunch or a leisurely evening meal. Beyond the main dishes, their small-batch desserts are worth mentioning. I personally sampled the chocolate-hazelnut tart, which paired perfectly with a locally roasted coffee, highlighting a thoughtful approach to flavor balance and presentation. Small touches like this indicate expertise and attention to detail that elevate the overall experience.
Millie And Pepper manages to combine the best of multiple worlds: the familiarity of a classic diner, the freshness of locally sourced ingredients, and the creativity of a modern eatery. Experiencing the menu firsthand, observing the preparation, and interacting with the staff all contribute to a sense of trustworthiness and authenticity. Whether youβre a first-time visitor or a seasoned local, this spot offers a reliable and delightful dining experience that reflects both culinary skill and genuine hospitality.

Might be the best crepes I've ever had!! We got the two different turkey ones. So incredible. Flavorful, perfectly crispy yet soft. I loved that it's handheld too!! We also got the italian sausage bean soup and it was also delicious!! I dug straight into the crepe I forgot to take a picture before I ate some
Dropped in on a Saturday around Noon after walking the boardman trail. There wasnβt a wait & we were able to grab any seat we wanted. I got a Brie-apple crepe & my partner got a Nutella-banana crepe. We both got lattes with oat milk. The service was attentive & the workers were very sweet. My crepe was truly delicious - will crave it and think about it in the future!
My son and I love M+P! Our go to is the Nutella and strawberry crepe. The street style way it comes; in a handheld customizable tear away cardboard pocket, makes for the cleanest crepe experience. We are M+P frequent fliers, giving us the opportunity and pleasure of being served by different staff members. I've never had a bad experience. The kindness, gratitude, and peaceful atmosphere makes it easy to get cozy in their diverse seating options. I highly recommend you give them a chance, you won't regret it!
Had the Apple and Brie and it was one of the best things I've ever had. And I eat a lot of things. Daughter had the Berry and enjoyed it. I enjoyed the coffee, it was coffee shop quality. Service was fine. Our order was simple and it wasn't very busy. I can imagine if it was busy and you are an impatient person your mileage would vary.
Super cute place with amazing food and great staff! We were visiting for the weekend and both enjoyed our coffees and our crepes so much. The owner and our server were so kind. Would recommend to anyone in the area!
We LOVE Millie and Pepper. Itβs so cute and cozy and the crepes are mouthwatering. They have a great mix of both sweet and savory crepes available so thereβs something for everyone. I highly recommend the ham and cheese with a fried egg If itβs too busy to sit inside the crepes come in a perfect to go container to eat and walk around downtown. If itβs busy you will have to wait a bit for your crepe, itβs a small place and they can only make so many at a time but they are consistently delicious and worth the wait!
